What Ever Happened to Arlo White?

Along with the genial snd sardonic Graeme Le Saux and the pugnacious but graceless Lee Dixon, Arlo White was the stalwart of the NBC stadium crew. They were the  intense colors, he was the flawless play by play. With the penetrating analysis of the two Robbies and the elegant promptings of the gorgeous Rebecca Lowe back in Stamford, CT the whole NBC crew added greatly to our viewing pleasure. Unlike almost every other female sports ‘analyst’ Rebecca is not a bimbo (apologies to Erin Andrews). Wish I had something nice to say about Tim Howard! How about ‘repeats what the Robbies say so nicely’! Or ‘only slightly less relevant than Kyle Martino!’

Getting back to the point (but delight lies in the detours) where the heck did Arlo White go?! Well the answer is – same place as Neymar, Benzema, Neves, Mitrovic, Koulibaly, Fabinho, Jota, Kanye, Mahrez, Saint-Maximin, Mendy, Firminho, Mane, Laporte, Fofana, Telles, Henderson, Gray, Wijnaldum, Dembele and Gerrard. And that’s not even close to being all of them! So please don’t declare there is no need to panic. (Last week’s leader featured an inspection of the Saudi crisis!)

But getting back to the point – where the heck did Arlo White go? Here’s a clue – $$$$$$!

Effen Okoku’s deadpan commentary lacks humor, lacks personality. Then there’s Peter Drury and Jon Champion. Ho hum!

Have you noticed the great improvement in the quality of the pictures of our beautiful game that we now see! In the past I grew weary of talk of pixels and megapixels. Now I can see what they were talking about!

But I’m not only talking about the surface of the picture. With the help of yet more stationary cameras, longer lenses and drones the pictures got a lot more arresting. l like the angle from behind the goal of the backs of the defense as they surge up the field! Come on lads! Let’s trap them offside!
